A sensible girl as soon as advised me that once you’re renovating a home to have loads of cocktails (and wine) readily available. We’re 2 weeks into our dwelling transform and whereas we’re on schedule, the quantity of undesirable stuff that comes out of peeling off 100-year-old wallpaper is surprising. For sure, I would like a couple of extra cocktail recipes up my sleeve to fight the reformation course of, making TechCollins (pronounced T-collins).
This recipe was born out of a necessity for simplicity, taste and brightness. With the warmth stretching into the excessive 90’s, a refreshingly chilly cocktail was precisely what I used to be craving. Considered one of my favourite gin drinks is the Tom Collins, so I believed switching the gin with a citrus ahead tequila like Dals Vida Blanco, maybe a enjoyable spin on a basic and including a little bit kick with pure mineral water.
I believe like many, I went by way of a tequila section in my youth that was roughly low cost tequila, overly candy mixers, and the bastardization of margaritas over ice. After a couple of summers of this, I utterly misplaced my urge for food for tequila and tore it up with a nostalgic brew to devour throughout Cinco de Mayo.
This 12 months is all about exploring new flavors (hiya sumac, tarragon and Thai curry paste), so I believed why not take a spirit like tequila and take a look at one thing new. I really like that this Dulce Vida Tequila already has a pleasant citrus taste, so mixing it with further citrus was a no brainer. Including a little bit contact of sweetness and a wholesome splash of mineral water balances the bitterness of the spirit after which serving it in a cup crammed with crushed ice made me really feel like I used to be nostalgically indulging in a snow cone.
It may be the proper drink for summer time.
