For months, we have been listening to how Ukraine will ‘quickly’ get F-16s from the West, to rebuild its decimated air pressure.
In the meantime, Russian Federation forces have been repeatedly focusing on key airfields and increasing their fighter jet destruction record, which has reached almost 100 plane because the begin of the warfare.
The Mirgorod air base, situated 100 miles from the frontline within the Poltava area, suffered a collection of assaults in June – and the assaults are getting extra damaging.
Yesterday, a Russian Orlan surveillance drone was monitoring the Mirgorod airbase, and noticed ‘a minimum of six’ Ukrainian Su-27 supersonic fighters parked within the open on the base in broad daylight.
After a Russian Iskander missile assault. The Iskander operational-tactical missile system was launched to strike the Ukrainian Mirgorod airfield.
The Ukrainians say two planes have been destroyed and 4 others have been broken. Russia’s Protection Ministry stated 5 operational Su-27 multirole fighters have been destroyed and two underneath restore have been broken.
Forbes reported:
“This could possibly be the most costly single day for the battered Ukrainian air pressure since Russia prolonged its warfare in opposition to Ukraine in February 2022. ‘There are some losses’, Air Pressure official Yuriy Ignat admitted.”
Ukrainian bloggers and social media customers blamed Air Pressure officers for deciding to park their jets within the open, particularly at a base so near the entrance traces.
“The operation in Mirgorod is the newest in a collection of Russian assaults on weak Ukrainian air bases. In latest months, Russian Lancet drones have shot down a minimum of 4 Ukrainian jets on the Dolgintsevo air base close to Kryvyi Rih, simply 45 miles from the entrance traces in southern Ukraine.”
Su-27s shoot down the variety of Ukrainian fighter jets in Mirgorod – a loss that the Ukrainian Air Pressure can not get well from in poor health.
“The Ukrainian Air Pressure went to warfare in February 2022 with about 125 Su-27, Su-25, MiG-29 and different jets. In 28 months of intense combating, the Ukrainians misplaced about 90 jets, Oryx analysts confirmed..
To compensate for his or her losses, the Ukrainians acquired from their allies, or recovered from long-term storage, alternative MiGs and Sukhois. These airframes are conserving the air pressure energetic till the previous European fighters – 85 Lockheed Martin F-16s and maybe a dozen Dassault Mirage 2000s – arrive in Ukraine.”
That is simply silly
Russian forces, utilizing a cluster missile and an Iskander-M SRBM, have been capable of destroy 2x UkrAF SU-27/(UB?) and harm 4 different SU-27s, all of which have been parked within the open at Mirgorod Airbase.

F-16s and Mirages may also be weak until steps are taken to guard them. Eradicating operational jets from Russian territory could be a begin.
“Ukrainian forces have entry to about 20 main air bases, dozens of smaller airfields and even freeway airstrips scattered throughout the nation. Every single Ukrainian jet kind has a variety of a whole bunch of miles on home gas. There isn’t a cause for a Su-27 with a variety of 700 miles to spend any time at an airfield 100 miles from the entrance line.”
In fact, the Russians have missiles that may hit throughout Ukraine so far as Lviv, on the Polish border.
The Ukrainians should transfer shortly with their countermeasures, or face destruction.
