A witness captured footage of Anders’ aircraft nose-diving between Orcas and Jones Islands.

William Anders, an astronaut who was one of many first three individuals to orbit the moon and who took the well-known “Arthritis” photograph, died Friday after a small aircraft crashed north of Seattle, in accordance with NASA, native officers and his household. He was 90 years previous.
The Pacific Northwest Coast Guard stated simply earlier than 1 p.m. native time that it and the San Juan County Sheriff’s Workplace had been responding to a aircraft crash between Orcas and Jones Islands, about 80 miles north of Seattle.
